Karlovy Vary sightseeing: plan your colonnades and tower
Karlovy Vary groups its sights tightly along the Teplá River, so the spa center's colonnades, hotels and museums sit within an easy walk of each other. The real climb is the Diana Lookout Tower above town, reached by a funicular from Mariánská Street beside Grandhotel Pupp.
Much of the promenade costs nothing: the Hot Spring Colonnade pours thermal water free, and the Mill Colonnade and Market Colonnade let you taste springs under carved roofs. Grandhotel Pupp is free to photograph from the opposite bank, though its Marble Hall and spa stay for guests.
Booked time goes to the Jan Becher Museum, where groups of 10 need a phone reservation, and to Moser Glass Museum, whose weekday glassmaking tours require booking ahead. The City Theatre fills an evening with opera or operetta once the colonnade walks are done.

Mill Colonnade in Karlovy Vary: What to See and How Long It Takes
A 132-meter neo-Renaissance hall by Josef Zítek, its roof on 124 Corinthian columns over six mineral springs you can taste from the spouts. Give the hall 20 to 30 minutes, and come early before tour groups fill the promenade at midday.
20-30 minutes · free entry · Best for spa architecture and spring tasting

Hot Spring Colonnade Karlovy Vary: What to See
A drinking hall on the Teplá River where fountains pour thermal water at different temperatures, with the town's hottest spring shooting up outside. Bring a porcelain spa cup with a spout, since the water is too hot for plastic bottles.
30-45 minutes · free drinking water; spa cups cost extra · Best for drinking spring first-timers

Market Colonnade in Karlovy Vary: What to See and How Long
A lacy wooden spring hall on Tržiště where three mineral springs rise under carved beams. Plan 20 to 40 minutes to taste the Charles IV, Lower Palace and Market springs, and note the spouts can be shut for maintenance.
20-40 minutes · free · Best for spring tasting and promenade walks

Grandhotel Pupp, Karlovy Vary: What to See and How to Visit
The 1877 Parkside and 1894 neo-baroque Riverside wings of Karlovy Vary's landmark five-star hotel sit on the Teplá. Non-guests can photograph the Riverside frontage from the opposite bank, but the Marble Hall, spa and pool belong to guests, so book a restaurant table to see inside.
20-30 minutes · Free · Book ahead · Best for architecture walks and photographers

Diana Observation Tower, Karlovy Vary: Funicular, Views and Time Needed
A wooded lookout above the spa center with a view over the Teplá valley and colonnades. Ride the funicular up and walk down through the spa forests, but save it for a clear afternoon since haze can flatten the view.
about an hour and a half · Best for clear-day viewpoints and forest walks

Diana Funicular in Karlovy Vary: Tickets, Hours and the Ride Up
A five-minute rail climb of 167 meters from Mariánská Street beside Grandhotel Pupp delivers you to the Diana Lookout Tower and its grounds. Cars leave every 15 minutes, so a missed one costs a quarter hour; cash is koruna only.

Jan Becher Museum, Karlovy Vary: The Becherovka Tour
This is a guided tour through the old Steinberky factory where Becherovka was made for over 140 years, ending with a tasting. Groups are capped at 10, so pre-booking by phone is required, especially on weekends.
45-60 minutes · from 290 CZK adult Basic tour · Booking required · Best for liqueur fans and tastings

Moser Glass Museum in Karlovy Vary: Tours, Tickets and Hours
The exhibition half of Moser's working glassworks, where weekday tours put you close to glassmakers shaping molten crystal by hand. Tours run only Monday to Friday and require booking ahead, so a weekend visit limits you to the museum, shop and café.
half a day · museum from 150 CZK; standard tour 370 CZK · Booking required · Best for glass and craft enthusiasts

Karlovy Vary City Theatre: Visiting the Municipal Theatre
Karlovy Vary's municipal stage fills an evening with opera, operetta, drama and stand-up once the colonnade walks are done. Shows are performed in Czech, so pick a music-led production if you don't speak it.
an evening · 100-650 Kč depending on production · Book ahead · Best for evening opera and operetta fans
Pairing the spa center sights on one walk
The Mill Colonnade, Market Colonnade on Tržiště and Hot Spring Colonnade line the Teplá promenade, so taste springs at each in a single loop of an hour or so. Grandhotel Pupp sits at Mírové náměstí 12, a short step to the Riverside frontage viewpoint.
Save the Diana Lookout Tower for its own outing: catch the funicular on Mariánská Street by Grandhotel Pupp, then walk down through the spa forests. The Jan Becher Museum on T. G. Masaryka and Moser Glass Museum on Kpt. Jaroše sit away from the river and work better as separate stops.
Tours and tickets worth reserving first
Reserve the Jan Becher Museum by phone, since tours cap at 10 people and weekends fill quickly. Moser Glass Museum runs its glassmaking tours only Monday to Friday and asks for advance booking, so a weekend trip leaves just the museum, shop and café.
For the City Theatre, booking is recommended for evening opera and operetta, and music-led productions suit visitors without Czech. The Diana funicular needs no reservation and leaves every 15 minutes.
